Северная Корея способна осуществить испытательный пуск межконтинентальной баллистической ракеты "в любое время и в любом месте", заявил в редком интервью западному СМИ замдиректора по делам Северной Америки в МИД Северной Кореи Цой Кан Ир. В беседе с американским телеканалом NBC он отверг мнение, что подобный пуск будет провокационным по своей сути.
"Наши меры по укреплению ядерного арсенала носят по своей природе оборонительный характер, (их цель) защитить наш суверенитет и справиться с постоянным ядерным шантажом и угрозами США против нашей страны", - цитирует северокорейского чиновника "Интерфакс".
Цой Кан Ир также заявил, что в Пхеньяне расценивает ежегодные военные маневры с участием США и Южной Кореи как провокацию, которая и сподвигла КНДР на развитие собственных ядерных вооружений. "Представьте себе, что наши войска прибыли в Канаду и Мексику и проводят там учения с ядерным оружием, направленные (на подготовку) к вторжению в США, что тогда за ответ вы будете ожидать от американского народа?" - спросил дипломат.
Он подчеркнул, что Пхеньян продолжит увеличивать свой ядерный арсенал и средства нанесения упреждающего удара до тех пор, пока Вашингтон продолжит проводить учения у границ Северной Кореи.
По словам Цой Кан Ира, планы по размещению в регионе американских противоракетных комплексов THAAD тоже являются провокационными, и Вашингтон сам усиливает нестабильность на Корейском полуострове для того, чтобы реализовывать свой план по доминированию в Азии.
Он подчеркнул, что КНДР поддержит США, если в Вашингтоне попробуют развивать более дружественные отношения с Пхеньяном. При этом Цой Кан Ир заявил, что любой президент США должен признать Северную Корею в качестве ядерной и великой военной державы. Он добавил, что санкции международного сообщества, введенные против Пхеньяна в связи с его ядерными испытаниями, "не работают" и не остановят северокорейскую ядерную программу.
В марте прошлого года по распоряжению главы Северной Кореи Ким Чен Ына корейские специалисты провели испытание для оценки термостойкости наконечника боеголовки межконтинентальной баллистической ракеты. Испытания, по утверждению официальной прессы, были успешными. Тогда руководитель КНДР подчеркивал, что Пхеньян разработал "технологию, которой обладают только несколько крупных военных держав, тем самым добившись огромного прогресса в производстве баллистических ракет".
